And we don’t just concentrate on the big brands! We also offer short runs for craft beer and beverage. Beer bottles are capped in one of two ways:

A Pry Off Crown Seal that requires a bottle opener to pry it off
A Twist Off Crown Seal that can be twisted off and reclosed for later consumption

Breweries are also able to choose whether to have a PVC or PVC-free liner.

Our team assesses Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), an internationally recognised method of identifying and managing risk. If you are not using a wine closure to seal your bottles, you should be!

The wine closure is now predominantly the closure of choice for the Australian and New Zealand wine industries. In the past 15 years, these devices have overtaken cork to become the most popular means of sealing bottles. In 2001, just 1 per cent of New Zealand wineries were using these wine closures ; in 2004, more than 70 per cent were on board.

The aluminium screw wine cap was pioneered in the 1960s. French manufacturer Le Bouchage Mecanique produced the wine cap and Australia’s Yalumba Winery was among the first to test it. It was commercialised in Australia in 1976 and has steadily grown in popularity.

The wine closure has many benefits for the Australian wine industry.

It keeps the wine in pristine condition.
It prevents excess oxygen from seeping into the bottle through the cork.
It substantially reduce the incidences of cork taint.
It doesn’t affect wine ageing. With the correct bottle and application machinery, a wine screw cap is guaranteed to last at least 10 years. In practice, they can last for 25 to 30 years.
Retailers can stock more product as the bottle does not have to be placed on its side to keep the cork moist.
Waiters can more quickly and more easily open bottles for patrons.

Silk-Screen Printing
We use a mesh to transfer colour-matched ink onto selected areas of the bottle cap’s top & sleeve so that your brand will be visible from every angle
Embossing
Raised embossing gives closures a more premium look and feel. Matched male & female roller die press the design into aluminium sheets. Interpack is the only Australian producer to offer top and side embossing
Shaved Embossing
In Interpack exclusive, we are also the only screw cap producer with capability to shave off the colour of the embossed area to reveal the shiny aluminium below
Hot Foiling
Glossy gold or silver is now offered via ‘hot foiling’, for eye-catching decorations on wine closures. A ‘negative’ plate, which has been etched to form the reverse of the required design is bolted to a hot plate. A roll of foil is sandwiched between the closure and the plate, and pressure is applied in order for the equipment to ‘release’ the foil. The hot foil then hits the wine closure on all areas that the design on the plate has touched.
